Our Mission
Chapel Thrill Escapes is a student-run educational non-profit organization focused on providing an outlet for student creativity, entrepreneurship, and collaboration through the creation, operation, and maintenance of escape rooms built by and for students in order to create one-of-a-kind experiences for our community.
Our Strategic Vision
We will expand product offerings across physical and virtual spaces, implement sustainable, cohesive programs across organizational units to foster high-impact experiences and shared community, and position ourself to adopt novel business models for statewide expansion.
Chapel Thrill Escapes was founded on a few simple ideas: that on-campus entertainment for students shouldn’t break the bank; that student entrepreneurship could, and would, lead to success; and that students have both the ability and the responsibility to aid their peers in unlocking their full potential. Our organization grew with the support of those who shared these beliefs, and Chapel Thrill Escapes is now proud to run escape rooms on a regular basis in Cobb Residence Hall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Our Core Values guide our decision-making as an organization. They allow us to remain consistent in our priorities without sacrificing the flexibility to pivot to pursue new horizons when opportunities arise. Most importantly, sharing our Core Values here enables greater transparency and accountability by making our priorities clear to our community.

We foster an environment where the experiences, opinions, and identities of our constituents are appreciated and respected, and in which differences are viewed as opportunities. We believe that diversity strengthens Chapel Thrill Escapes at the individual and organizational level.

As founders of the nation’s first on-campus, student-run escape room, we strive for a process of continual evolution and improvement, always challenging ourselves to push our limits. We are willing to take risks in order to develop novel escape room ventures and enrich our community.
